Muhammad Nasir Ali Syed is a seasoned professional with over twenty three years of rich experience and commendable achievements in the diversified areas of operations and sales in the Life Insurance & Takaful industry of Pakistan. The seasoned Takaful ambassador is a founding member and Chief Executive Officer of Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited, serving this pioneering venture since February 2007.

Mr. Nasir holds a Masters Degree in Biochemistry from Karachi University, an ALMI qualification from LOMA, USA and a Post-graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking & Takaful from CEI (a division of Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi). He started his career with Universal Express and later joined State Express. In 1995, he began his insurance-carrier at the American Life Insurance (ALICO), as a founding member of the Underwriting Department. In 1997, he moved to Commercial Union Life Assurance Company, where he established the Group Health Department of the organization. After progressing through multiple senior-level management positions in New Jubilee life Insurance Company, his vision and passion for Islamic Finance inspired him to take the opportunity of joining the Shariah-compliant – Takaful industry during the initial phase of its development.

In February 2007, he joined Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited – Pakistan’s first Family-Takaful venture, as the Head of Operations. Since then, he has successfully established and evolved the robust and effective systems and procedures to successfully run the entire Takaful operations, with the help of his dedicated and visionary team, while deploying the latest technologies and global best-practices in the business. Due to his outstanding performance, the Board of Directors at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful elevated him to the position of Chief Executive Officer, in 2012.

Over the years, he has attended many national and international conferences, seminars, courses and workshops while representing the protection industry of Pakistan on numerous international forums. He is an active participant and member of various developmental committees to share his wisdom and experience to expand the awareness of insurance/Takaful and promote ‘financial-inclusion’ in Pakistan.

With Allah’s blessings and the hard work of its entire workforce, Pak-Qatar Family Takaful is ranked as one of the most successful enterprises in the industry, that provides the best shariah-compliant products and most competitive financial-protection services, to everyone, across many diverse consumer segments. Under his insightful leadership, the company has won several accolades including the “Best Takaful Company award” in 2016, conferred by the President of Pakistan – H.E. Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, while the ‘International Takaful Summit’ held recently in London, also adorned it with the title of ‘Best Takaful Company in Pakistan’.

Mr. Muhammad Menhas assumed the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Pak-Qatar Family Takaful in January 2013. Before joining Pak-Qatar Family Takaful, he served as Area Director at Jubilee Life Insurance Company (Pvt) Ltd. He is a graduate of Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing.

Mr. Menhas started his career as a Marketing Manager at a reputable business house of petroleum sector and later joined Life Insurance Industry in the start of 1998. He has over 20 years of experience with a diversified portfolio in the field of Insurance. He is one of the distinguished personalities in insurance industry with a list of achievements. His joining has given a new look and heights to Pak Qatar Family Takaful. All through his professional career, Mr. Menhas occupied a good number of prestigious and high profile offices in different organizations.

Mr. Menhas has thereon successfully risen through the ranks by handling multidimensional assignments and heading all the major functions at various points in time. He has written his name in the list of highly successful people through his dedicated efforts, inspired leadership and management skills. He has been instrumental in scaling up the business. During his long stay with the Insurance Industry, he had varied exposure in different operational and business areas.

Muhammad Kamran Saleem is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP); Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP); Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan (ICSP); and Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA). He passed all exams with flying colors including three gold-medals in ICAP; Certificate of Merit in ICMAP and Second position in PGD. Besides, he is a post-graduate in Commerce and Law where he clinched first class first position.

Mr. Kamran Saleem has successfully risen to the position of Senior General Manager by handling multidimensional assignments and heading all the major functions in the company at various points in time. With such an illustrative and solid background in Finance, Mr. Saleem has been instrumental in ensuring that all operations of the company are well managed with the highest level of integrity and transparency which are the hallmark of the company. He has the distinction of successfully implementing Company policies and practices with internationally recognized best practices in Accounts, Finance & Legal, and has struggled to streamline all the various processes related to Financial Management and Legal & Compliance.

During his long stay with the company, he had varied exposure in different operational and business areas, which also included the position of Head of Human Resources during (July-2011 to June-2014). As Head of HR, he provided proactive leadership and created an internationally harmonized environment through the development of best-practices policies and programs in key areas like recruitment, retention, promotion, employee relations, benefits and compensation. He was instrumental in the creation of effective training programs tied to the company’s priorities. As Head of HR, he was primarily engaged in developing superior workforce, development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, high performance & personal ongoing development. He conceptualized and developed Employee Handbook and HR Manual carrying all relevant details and information mandatory for an employee. He successfully managed all operational and strategic activities of the company resulting in an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasized on quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of workforce.

As Head of Legal, Mr. Kamran is putting his best efforts for extremely challenging and sensitive position in order to ensure business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has appointed Mr.  Kamran Saleem, as Chairman of (Central) Standing Committee on Takaful & Window Takaful.

Mr. Kamran Saleem also served as the Vice-Chairman of ‘Islamic Banking and Takaful’ Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in 2014.

Mr. Waqas has over 22+ years of rich, versatile and rigorous experience in the Life Insurance operations with well-reputed Insurance companies at senior level positions. His expertise lies in almost all the spectrums of Life insurance including Underwriting, Client Service, Bancatakaful operations, Product Development and Branch management. Being a part of the company since inception, he was instrumental in setting up Individual Life Operations department and formulating process mapping for various key functions of Individual Life segment at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited.

Mr. Waqas has done ACSC, FLMI and MBA. In addition, he has to his credit a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Finance from Centre for Islamic Economics, Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom, Karachi.

Mr. Saqib Zeeshan has over 18+ years of rich work experience of Insurance, Takaful and Health industry in Pakistan. He worked at Indus Hospital as Head of Communications, Resource Development & Marketing. He is one of the founding members of Pak-Qatar Family Takaful and was instrumental in setting up the department. Prior to joining PQFTL, Mr. Saqib worked at senior level positions in ALICO, Commercial Union Life Assurance Pakistan and Allianz EFU Health Insurance Limited. He holds an MBA degree as well as PGD in Islamic Banking and Finance.

Mr. Saifuddin Shaikh is a Bachelor of Science and a Law Graduate. Besides, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking & Finance as well as an Associate Engineering Diploma in Electronics Technology. In addition, he holds several certifications in Engineering and Information Technology.

He is heading the department of Administration & Procurement of Pak-Qatar Takaful since January 2007. During his long association with Pak-Qatar, he also remained as the Head of Information Technology & Systems for 3 years (Oct. 2012 – July 2015). He holds over 24 years of diversified experience in the areas of Administration, Procurement, Information Technology Support, Human Resource Management and Education / Training.

Mr. Shaikh is representing Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited on the General Body of Karachi Chamber of Commerce Industry (KCCI) for the year 2018-2019. In addition, he continues to serve as the member on the sub committees for “Housing, Construction & Real Estate”, “Law & Order” and “Travel & Tourism, Hajj & Umrah” of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) for the year 2018 & 19.

The Chairman of (Central) Standing Committee on Takaful & Window Takaful of The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) selected Mr. Saifuddin as the member of this esteemed committee for the year 2018.

He has been serving as the Chairman of the sub committee for “Training, Development & Capacity Enhancement” of Dar-e-Arqam Schools – Sindh Region for 2018 to 2019.

Mr. Shaikh has been a member of “Curriculum Designing Board” for Bachelor Programs of Information Technology in PAF Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology (PAF-KIET) in 2014.

Azeem Iqbal Pirani is the Country Head for BancaTakaful and Alternate Distribution Channels at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful (PQFTL). He is responsible for developing and effectively generating the required numbers from these channels.

Prior to joining PQFTL he was the Regional Head for Pakistan at FWU AG. As the main representative for the Munich headquartered company in Pakistan he was responsible for setting up the branch as well as putting in place the required agreements to enable it to carry out its business of facilitating BancaTakaful. FWU is presently the largest global distributor of BancaTakaful.

Prior to joining FWU AG Azeem was Head of Marketing & Alternate Distribution at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful, Pakistan’s first Family Takaful Operator. Prior to that he was Manager of the Marketing department and Contact Center at Meezan Bank Limited, Pakistan’s first and largest dedicated Islamic bank.

On the social front Azeem is one of the founding trustees at Ihsaas Trust. A Shariah compliant microfinance provider which aims to help its brothers and sisters in humanity become self-reliant.

Azeem has published a number of articles in the field of Islamic finance and Takaful and is frequently invited to speak on these subjects at various venues including universities and television programs. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from the Center of Islamic Economics in Pakistan, an MBA in International Business from the University of New Brunswick in Canada, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Houston in the United States.

Mr. Umair possesses over 16 years of versatile and hands-on experience in almost all the spectrums of IT including but not limited to IT Infrastructure, ERP & Business Intelligence, Project Management, Networking, Web Servers, Languages and Databases.

Mr. Umair has done MS in Computer Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. He worked at senior positions with different companies including Ace Aims (Pvt) Limited, Trakker (Pvt.) limited and National Bank of Pakistan (Islamic Banking).

Mr. Waqas brings with him over 14 years of rich experience in the consumer banking industry of Pakistan at senior positions. His last assignment was with Dubai Islamic Bank, where he served as Head of Marketing Services and was also involved in product development. Prior to this, he was working with Standard Chartered (Saadiq) as Business Manager for its entire Islamic Consumer Banking products in Pakistan. Before joining SCB, he served at Meezan Bank Ltd. as Head of Marketing.

Throughout his professional career, he has significantly contributed to the companies he has worked with. He is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee for Islamic Banking at FPCCI.

Mr. Waqas is an MBA in Marketing from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. In addition, he has attended several training programs both locally and internationally.

Mr. Shoaib has over 11 years of versatile and rigorous experience in the financial, manufacturing, and service industry of Pakistan at senior level positions in various departments such as Assurance, Advisory, Taxation and Internal Audit. His last assignment was with Hinopak Motors Ltd, where he served as Head of Internal Audit and Secretary Audit Committee. Prior to this, he has worked with Inbox Business Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, where he served as Manager – Internal Audit Department. Before joining Inbox Business Technologies, he served in renowned Audit multi-nationals such as PwC (A.F. Ferguson) and Ernst & Young on senior Audit roles.

Besides this, he currently serves as a Committee Member of  Professional Accountants in Business Committee (PAIB) of ICAP. In addition, he is also serving as Representative of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Pakistan Chapter.

By professional training, Mr. Shoaib is a Chartered Accountant from ICAP, and also has an M. Com degree. In addition to it, he possesses many professional certifications such as CFC, CPFA and ISO 9001-2015 QMS Lead Auditor. Moreover, he has worked on many international projects and attended several training programs both locally and abroad.

Mr. Kamran Ali Khan has over 18 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Customer Care & Retention, Sales & Distribution, Quality Assurance, Planning, Automation, and Cost Optimization in Pakistan’s service industry. His last assignment was with K-Electric, where he served as Head of Training and Service Quality. Prior to this, he has worked with Wi-Tribe as Regional Head – Training & Development. Before joining Wi-Tribe, he served at Mobilink as Specialist-Quality Assurance, Standardization & Training – South Region. In addition, he has also served as a visiting faculty member at the Institute of Business and Technology (IBT).

Mr. Ahsan Yameen is a an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom. Additionally, he is currently pursuing an Associateship from the Society of Actuaries (SOA), and Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) certification. He started his career at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Ltd. and has spent 6 years with the company.

Mr. Ahsan is currently leading the company’s Actuarial Services Department whose primary role includes product development and valuation of technical reserves.

Mufti Muhammad Shakir Siddiqui completed his research work in Islamic Jurisprudence with an outstanding record throughout his academic career. He completed his M. A. in Arabic from University of Karachi in 2011 and is presently enrolled in M. Phil program leading to Ph.D at the same University.

He has been associated with Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited since 2009 and supervises Shariah Trainings, Shariah Compliance & Audits. Mufti Shakir developed & implemented Shariah Compliance, Audit Manuals and Guidelines (Advertising, Co-Takaful, Screening Criteria for Investment, Shares, Stock Trading, Surplus Distribution, Re-Takaful, Charity Fund, Banka Takaful etc.) for the company; reviewed several business contracts and agreements with respect to Shariah and delivered Shariah trainings and lectures to participants at various platforms all over Pakistan. He also conducted workshops on Takaful and Islamic Banking at Corporate level including Multinationals. His specialization include: Islamic Finance, Islamic Jurisprudence, Takaful, Islamic Risk Management, Islamic Tarbiya, Sharia Audit & Compliance, Waqf Management and Islami Tariqa-e-Tijarat. He focuses on presenting Islamic solutions to problems related to the modern world.

He is a visiting faculty member of different universities/educational institutes in Karachi including IBA-CEIF. Mufti Shakir completed Takahassus Fil Ifta (equivalent to Ph.D) and has the authority to write Fatawa at Darul Ifta Darul Uloom, Karachi.

Mufti Shakir is also a member and Shariah Consultant of Standing Committee on ‘Islamic Banking & Takaful’ at FPCCI (The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
