Management Committee

Mr. Zahid Hussain Awan has been associated with Pak-Qatar General Takaful as director since its inception.

Mr. Zahid is a graduate of Punjab University with a rich professional experience of over 36 years in Banking Industry.

He initially gained experience of Banking mainly from GCC countries and worked for almost 10 years in international banking. Later in 1990, he joined Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) where he looked after the Treasury, Corresponding Banking, BancaTakaful and Products & Services development.

Mr. Saqib Zeeshan has over 20+ years of rich work experience in Insurance, Takaful and Health industry of Pakistan. Mr. Saqib is amongst the founding members of Pak-Qatar Family Takaful and played an instrumental role in setting up the departments in 2007. Prior to joining PQGTL, Mr. Saqib worked at senior level positions which includes his role as an Executive Director at Salaam Takaful. Apart from this, his illustrious career also includes him performing roles in ALICO, Commercial Union Life Assurance Pakistan and Allianz EFU Health Insurance Limited.

He is an MBA and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics by qualification. In addition, he also has Post-Graduate Diploma in Takaful & Islamic Banking from Darul Uloom, Karachi.

Mufti Muhammad Shakir Siddiqui is currently working as Sharia’ah Advisor for Pak-Qatar General Takaful. He supervises Shariah Trainings, Shariah Compliance & Audits. Mufti Shakir developed & implemented Shariah Compliance, Audit Manuals and Guidelines for the company.

He completed Takahassus Fil Ifta from Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi and currently serves as a visiting faculty member at leading universities & educational institutes in Karachi including IBA-CEIF. His specialization include: Islamic Finance, Islamic Jurisprudence, Takaful, Islamic Risk Management, Islamic Tarbiya, Sharia Audit & Compliance, Waqf Management and Islami Tariqa-e-Tijarat.

Mufti Shakir is also a member and Shariah Consultant of Standing Committee on ‘Takaful & Window Takaful’ at the FPCCI (The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry). He has also conducted workshops on Takaful and Islamic Banking at Corporate level including multinationals.

Mr. Mehmood Arshad has over 16 years of experience in the Insurance and Takaful industry of Pakistan. He is Executive Director – Marketing at Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited. His core responsibilities include management of the entire Sales Team across the country and leading marketing initiatives. A thorough professional and a staunch advocate of Islamic Finance, Mr. Mehmood’s expertise lies in marketing management, relationship building, strategy formulation and public speaking.

Mr. Mehmood has an MBA from Karachi University Business School, and has been teaching Management and Marketing courses at prestigious universities for last several years. Besides this, he is on the board of various business forums and important socio-economic platforms where he is contributing in promoting Pakistan’s economic interest domestically as well as in the international markets, and developing strategic opportunities for business community and social sector of Pakistan.

Mr. Shoaib has over 11 years of versatile and rigorous experience in the financial, manufacturing, and service industry of Pakistan at senior level positions in various departments such as Assurance, Advisory, Taxation and Internal Audit. Mr. Shoaib is a Chartered Accountant by profession from ICAP and has completed several professional certifications such as CFC, CPFA and ISO 9001-2015 QMS Lead Auditor.

He currently serves as a Committee Member of Professional Accountants in Business Committee (PAIB) of ICAP. In addition, he is also serving as Representative of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Pakistan Chapter.

Muhammad Raza is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of rich experience and commendable achievements in the various areas of operations and in the Insurance & Takaful industry of Pakistan. He has worked at high level positions in different companies including State Life Insurance Corporation, Sindh Insurance Limited and Habib Insurance Ltd.

After progressing through multiple senior-level management positions at various companies, his vision and passion for Islamic Finance inspired him to take the opportunity of joining Takaful industry and is presently heading the Operations department of Pak-Qatar General Takaful.

Muhammad Raza has completed Associateship from Chartered Insurance Institute – UK (ACII) which is the highest International General Insurance qualification. He also holds PGD in Islamic Finance & Banking from PAF-KIET and has done other certifications which includes CITIP (Certificate of IT for Insurance Professionals) and CTP (Certified Takaful Professional).

Mr. Raza has been instrumental in designing efficient policies, overseeing customer service and implementing technology solutions, besides evaluating risk and ensuring compliance with regulations. He is a responsible leader with analytical skills and has in-depth knowledge of the business. He has proven himself as company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and has implemented latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position in the industry and achieves long-term success.

Mr. Muhammad Saleem is associated with the company since 2007. He is a seasoned Accounting and Taxation professional, and is currently serving as Head of Accounts. Mr. Saleem possesses 30+ years of experience in the field of Treasury, Financial Reporting, Costing, Taxation and Reinsurance, and previously has worked with reputed companies on responsible positions.

Mr. Saleem has done B. Com. He holds a PGD in Finance & Accounts, and a PGD in Islamic Banking & Takaful.

Mr. Shahzad M. Ghilzai has over 26 years of versatile experience in the General insurance industry of Pakistan at senior level positions. He was previously associated with Adamjee Insurance Ltd. as Head of Marine Claims and has also worked with International Credit International, Mac-Nels, and Royal & Sun Alliance Insurances.

Mr. Shahzad is a business graduate of Adamson University, Philippines and has also completed several professional certifications/trainings in Takaful and Insurance sector.

Mr. Farrukh Adnan has over 25 years of rich experience in the General insurance industry of Pakistan at senior level positions. He previously worked for Crescent Star Insurance Limited and Adamjee Insurance.

Mr. Farrukh is a commerce graduate of Karachi University and has completed various professional certifications/trainings in Takaful and Insurance sector.

Mr. Syed Muhammad Farhan Shamim serves as the Head of Fire & Engineering in the Operations Department at Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited. In this capacity, he oversees operations not only at the Head Office but also in various cities across the region.

With over 13 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Farhan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Prior to joining Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited, he held the position of Manager Claims at Fidelity Insurance Brokers. He has also held roles at Adamjee Insurance Company Limited in various Departments.

Mr. Farhan is academically qualified with an M.Com Degree in Insurance. Furthermore, he has pursued numerous professional certifications and training programs within the insurance sector, enhancing his skills and staying abreast of industry trends.

Mr. Imran Ahmed is associated with Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited as Head of Motor Claims. He is leading the entire Motor Claims Team based at Head Office as well as other cities, nationwide.

Mr. Imran has over 11 years of experience in Motor Claims and Underwriting from EFU General Insurance Limited. During his time at EFU, he had the opportunity to work in diversified portfolios with a team of seasoned Insurance professionals. He has in depth knowledge and technical expertise of managing Motor Claims, and is good at developing strategies, and business intelligence reports & analytics.

Mr. Imran has done his Master’s in Applied Mathematics from the University of Karachi. In addition, he has a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. Further, during his career, he has had numerous trainings on soft skills, Claims & Risk Management, Reinsurance, and Takaful.

Mr. Kamran Ali Khan has over 18 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Customer Care & Retention, Sales & Distribution, Quality Assurance, Planning, Automation, and Cost Optimization in Pakistan’s service industry.

His last assignment was with K-Electric, where he served as Head of Training and Service Quality. Prior to this, he has worked with Wi-Tribe as Regional Head – Training & Development.

Before joining Wi-Tribe, he served at Mobilink as Specialist-Quality Assurance, Standardization & Training – South Region. In addition, he has also served as a visiting faculty member at the Institute of Business and Technology (IBT).

Mr. Saifuddin Shaikh has been heading the department of Administration & Procurement of Pak-Qatar General Takaful since January 2007. During his long association with Pak-Qatar, he also remained as the Head of Information Technology & Systems for 3 years. He holds over 24 years of diversified experience in the areas of Administration, Procurement, Information Technology Support, Human Resource Management and Education / Training.

He is a Law Graduate and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking & Finance as well as an Associate Engineering Diploma in Electronics Technology.

Mr. Bilal Rashid has over 20 years of diverse experience in Marketing & Corporate Communications with various organizations such as IGI Life, Telenor, GEO TV, Lakson Tobacco, etc. He is a thorough marketing professional with a demonstrated history of project delivery. He possesses strong competencies in corporate communications, conventional & digital marketing, business planning, brand activation, advertising, and market analysis.

Mr. Bilal has  MBA Degree in Marketing along with multiple related certifications.

Mr. Obaid Hussain Qureshi has over 20 years of diverse experience in Legal & Compliance with various organizations such as K-Electric, Standard Chartered District & Session Court Karachi, etc. He possesses strong competencies in Legal drafting, Compliance, Accounting management, Paralegal Work, Litigation (Civil, Criminal, and Family), Risk management, Arbitration, Commercial Banking, Best Sales & Services, Anti-Money Laundering

Mr. Obaid has done Bachelor of Laws – LLB from the University of Karachi along with multiple related certifications.
