Mr. Zahid Hussain is working as Chief Executive Officer at PQGTL. He has more than 30 years of diversified experience of international banking. He is a commerce graduate from the Punjab University of Lahore.
Mr. Zahid previously worked with Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) as Head of Treasury, Insurance, Banking Products and Services Development.
With a strong background in financial & business management, Mr. Zahid has been instrumental in business development initiatives at PQGTL.
Mr. Zahid has contributed articles for various International publications on the subject of Islamic Finance and Takaful.
Mr. Azeem Pirani brings along over 18 years of vast experience of Banking & Islamic Finance industry. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from the Center of Islamic Economics in Pakistan, an MBA in International Business from the University of New Brunswick in Canada, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Houston in the United States.
Before joining, PQGTL, he was the Regional Head for Pakistan at FWU AG. As the main representative for the Munich headquartered company in Pakistan he was responsible for setting up the branch as well as putting in place the required agreements to enable it to carry out its business of facilitating BancaTakaful.
Azeem has contributed several articles for leading national & international publications on Islamic finance and Takaful.
Mr. Kamran Saleem is working as Director Finance and Company Secretary in PQGTL. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered of Pakistan (ICAP) besides other prestigious accounting institutes. His outstanding achievement includes three gold-medals in ICAP. Mr. Kamran has over 25 years of experience in various prestigious firms.
He has the distinction of successfully implementing organizational policies and practices with internationally recognized best practices in the field of Accounts, Finance, Legal and Corporate governance. During the course of his over 12 years tenure in the Company, he also worked as Head of Human Resources for around 6 years) and was primarily engaged in developing superior workforce, development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, high performance & personal ongoing development.
The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has appointed Mr. Kamran Saleem, as Convener of Standing Committee on Takaful & Window Takaful and maintains consecutive re-appointments to lead this prestigious forum as a known Takaful Leader.
Mr. Mehmood Arshad has over 11 years of experience in the Insurance industry of Pakistan. He is Senior Executive Vice President and Country Head – Sales & Marketing at Pak-Qatar General Takaful Ltd. His core responsibilities include management of the entire Sales Team across the country and leading marketing initiatives. A thorough professional and a staunch advocate of Islamic Finance, Mr. Mehmood’s expertise lies in marketing management, relationship building, strategy formulation and public speaking.
Mr. Mehmood has an MBA from Karachi University Business School, and has been teaching Management and Marketing courses at prestigious universities for the last 15 years. Besides this, he is on the board of various business forums and important socio-economic platforms where he is contributing in promoting Pakistan’s economic interest domestically as well as in the international markets, and developing strategic opportunities for business community and social sector of Pakistan.
Mr. Raza has over 21 years of experience in the insurance industry of Pakistan and has served at many senior level positions related to operations. He has worked for various insurance companies that include Sindh Insurance Limited, Habib Insurance, and State Life Insurance.
Mr. Raza completed his post-graduation degree in Islamic Finance & Banking from PAF KIET and has also done other certifications that include ACII, CITIP and CTP.
Mr. Qaiser Zarif has close to 15 years of hands-on experience in Property Underwriting, Client Management, and has in-depth knowledge of Technical areas related to Fire Underwriting. He has previously worked for one of the largest General Insurers in Pakistan on various capacities. He is currently working as Head of Fire & Property Underwriting.
Mr. Qasier has a Master’s degree in Insurance. In addition, he has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Property & Business Interruption from Pakistan Insurance Institute as well as a Certificate in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.
Mr. Shahzad M. Ghilzai has over 26 years of versatile experience in the General insurance industry of Pakistan at senior level positions. He was previously associated with Adamjee Insurance Ltd. as Head of Marine Claims and has also worked with International Credit International, Mac-Nels, and Royal & Sun Alliance Insurances.
Mr. Shahzad is a business graduate of Adamson University, Philippines and has also completed several professional certifications/trainings in Takaful and Insurance sector.
Mr. Farrukh Adnan has over 25 years of rich experience in the General insurance industry of Pakistan at senior level positions. He previously worked for Crescent Star Insurance Limited and Adamjee Insurance.
Mr. Farrukh is a commerce graduate of Karachi University and has completed various professional certifications/trainings in Takaful and Insurance sector.
Mr. Altaf Ahmed Siddiqui brings has over 25 years of rich experience in the non-life insurance industry of Pakistan. His expertise lies in the areas of operations of General Insurance. He previously worked for Century Insurance Company Limited, EFU General Insurance Limited and Adamjee Insurance Company Ltd.
Mr. Siddiqui has a Master’s degree in Commerce from University of Karachi. He enjoys a versatile training in the field of insurance and Takaful.
Mufti Muhammad Shakir Siddiqui is currently working as Sharia’ah Advisor for Pak-Qatar General Takaful. He supervises Shariah Trainings, Shariah Compliance & Audits. Mufti Shakir developed & implemented Shariah Compliance, Audit Manuals and Guidelines for the company.
He completed Takahassus Fil Ifta from Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi and currently serves as a visiting faculty member at leading universities & educational institutes in Karachi including IBA-CEIF. His specialization include: Islamic Finance, Islamic Jurisprudence, Takaful, Islamic Risk Management, Islamic Tarbiya, Sharia Audit & Compliance, Waqf Management and Islami Tariqa-e-Tijarat.
Mufti Shakir is also a member and Shariah Consultant of Standing Committee on ‘Takaful & Window Takaful’ at the FPCCI (The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry). He has also conducted workshops on Takaful and Islamic Banking at Corporate level including multinationals.
Mr. Saifuddin Shaikh has been heading the department of Administration & Procurement of Pak-Qatar General Takaful since January 2007. During his long association with Pak-Qatar, he also remained as the Head of Information Technology & Systems for 3 years. He holds over 24 years of diversified experience in the areas of Administration, Procurement, Information Technology Support, Human Resource Management and Education / Training.
He is a Law Graduate and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking & Finance as well as an Associate Engineering Diploma in Electronics Technology.
Mr. Umair as Head of IT, possesses over 18 years of versatile and hands-on experience in almost all the spectrums of IT including but not limited to IT Infrastructure, ERP & Business Intelligence, Project Management, Networking, Web Servers, Languages and Databases.
Mr. Umair has done MS in Computer Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. He worked at senior positions with different companies including Ace Aims (Pvt) Limited, Trakker (Pvt.) limited and National Bank of Pakistan (Islamic Banking).
Mr. Kamran Ali Khan has over 18 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Customer Care & Retention, Sales & Distribution, Quality Assurance, Planning, Automation, and Cost Optimization in Pakistan’s service industry.
His last assignment was with K-Electric, where he served as Head of Training and Service Quality. Prior to this, he has worked with Wi-Tribe as Regional Head – Training & Development.
Before joining Wi-Tribe, he served at Mobilink as Specialist-Quality Assurance, Standardization & Training – South Region. In addition, he has also served as a visiting faculty member at the Institute of Business and Technology (IBT).
Mr. Waqas as Head of Marketing brings with him over 15 years of rich experience in the Islamic banking industry of Pakistan at senior positions. His last assignment was with Dubai Islamic Bank, where he served as Head of Marketing Services and was also involved in product development. Prior to this, he was working with Standard Chartered (Saadiq) as Business Manager for its entire Islamic Consumer Banking products in Pakistan. Before joining SCB, he served at Meezan Bank for five years with his last position as Head of Marketing.
Mr. Waqas is an MBA and BBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. In addition, he has attended several specialized Islamic Finance training programs both locally and internationally.
Throughout his professional career, he has contributed for the promotion of Islamic Finance. He currently serves as an honorary member in various Islamic Finance forums which includes, State Bank of Pakistan, IBA Center of Excellence in Islamic Finance and FPCCI Standing Committee for Islamic Banking & Takaful. He is also a visiting faculty member for Islamic Finance in various universities.
Mr. Muhammad Saleem is associated with the company since 2007. He is a seasoned Accounting and Taxation professional, and is currently serving as Head of Accounts. Mr. Saleem possesses 30+ years of experience in the field of Treasury, Financial Reporting, Costing, Taxation and Reinsurance, and previously has worked with reputed companies on responsible positions.
Mr. Saleem has done B. Com. He holds a PGD in Finance & Accounts, and a PGD in Islamic Banking & Takaful.
Mr. Jehanzaib Ahmed is currently serving as Head of Legal & Compliance. He has a total of 13 years of experience including 4 years of experience in the International market. Mr. Jehanzaib is a seasoned veteran in legal & compliance facets that include but not limited to statutory & corporate compliance, complaints management, legal matters, and in-house counselling and advisory.
Having done his LL.B. (Hons) from University of Wales, UK, he has also got, to his credit, numerous trainings such as; Islamic Banking & Modes of Finance, AML & CFT Training, Legal Issues for CFO/CS/Finance Professions, Advocacy Training Program, and Trade Bodies Capacity Building Workshop. He is a member of SAARC CC&I and ECO CC&I Arbitration Councils.
Mr. Shoaib has over 11 years of versatile and rigorous experience in the financial, manufacturing, and service industry of Pakistan at senior level positions in various departments such as Assurance, Advisory, Taxation and Internal Audit. Mr. Shoaib is a Chartered Accountant by profession from ICAP and has completed several professional certifications such as CFC, CPFA and ISO 9001-2015 QMS Lead Auditor.
He currently serves as a Committee Member of Professional Accountants in Business Committee (PAIB) of ICAP. In addition, he is also serving as Representative of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Pakistan Chapter.
